The Legion of Scriveners for Reform is a volunteer organization which aims to ignite the power of the pen through concerned citizens throughout America and the world!
So much can be accomplished by one good letter, yet few people take the time to tell decision makers what they think. You may have concerns, complaints, or suggestions about the activities of businesses and organizations which effect your life and our world. If you have never told these groups what changes you would like to see, you can’t be surprised when nothing improves. Perhaps you think that one person’s feelings won’t be considered or even acknowledged. Maybe you don’t know whom to contact. In addition, you probably don’t know just how to express your opinions. The above doubts and fears prevent thousands of people from exercising their very influential power of the consumer every year.
You know the power of one good letter? The course of history has been changed innumerable times by well-structured letters which were written at the right time to the right people. If one letter can do so much, think what ten, twenty, or even a hundred good letters could do! The Legion of Scriveners was designed to channel, harness, and use this power for reform where and when our society needs it most.
We maintain lists of current issues needing attention to tell our scriveners where their letters are most needed each month. We help them write these letters by providing templates of effective letters which they can use as guides for their own epistles. We ensure that these letters reach the right people by listing the names and addresses of the individuals who have the most control over each situation. Finally, we record the efforts, successes, and other epistolary activities of our members, plus the responses they receive, so that we can monitor which letters are the most powerful, thus making the entire body as productive as possible.
